Blackpool social services to be reviewed following death

Debbie Leitch, 24, who had Down’s syndrome, was found dead at her home in Blackpool in August 2019, following her mother’s neglect. A formal safeguarding adults review will now take place as confirmed by Blackpool Council. Read the full article here.

Five years ago, Collette, a 31-year-old American woman with down syndrome launched a cookie company. She has already turned over $1.2 million and now employs 15 people, many of whom also have disabilities. Collette says, “No matter who you are, you can make a difference in this world”.
