Entry level training Programmes

ARC Entry Level Programme is a Restraint Reduction Network (RRN) Certified PBS Model, that is aligned to the RRN Training Standards 2020.

The ARC (Assess, Respond, Care) model is fundamentally underpinned by Valuing People 2009 and the Department of Health’s Positive and Proactive Care (2014).

The ARC Model aims to support staff working in Health & Social Care and Educational settings in the United Kingdom, to develop skills and knowledge in relation to supporting children and adults who have complex support needs and behaviours of concern, associated with Learning Disabilities, Autistic Spectrum Condition, Acquired Brain Injuries, Dementia and Mental Health issues.

ARC is a model which promotes Positive Behaviour Support Principles and has been designed for use with adults and children. It encompasses PBS theory content that focuses on Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Interventions (aligned to the Public Health Model), offering a range of de-escalation strategies, personal protection and safe holding techniques.

This ensures that our ARC model is consistent with supporting adults and children across Health, Social Care and Education with dignity, respect and compassion.

ARC 1 Entry Level Training Programmes
  1. ARC 1 – Entry Level Programme (1 – day) Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) theory. 
  2. ARC 1 – Entry Level Programme (2 – 5days) PBS / Personal Protection Techniques and Safe Holding Techniques if required. 
  3. ARC 1– Entry Level Programme Annual Update (1 – 4days) PBS / Personal Protection & Safe Holding Techniques and Enhanced if required.
